Special Projects and Grants
- Campus Child Care Homes Network: This program supports licensed, established Ann Arbor-area home providers who can commit to: offering some enrollment priority to University of Michigan employees/students, obtaining 30 clock hours of early childhood-related training per year, enhancing their program quality by working to meet NAFCC Quality Standards, and becoming NAFCC accredited. Free training, paid accreditation and professional membership fees, and achievement-based financial incentives may be available. Applicants should have a history of compliance with DHS licensing rules.

- Project Welcome: This program offers support for child care programs serving children with special needs. For more information contact Child Care Network .
- T.E.A.C.H. program info. A model program linking compensation with training, TEACH is administered
by the Michigan 4C Association. Scholarships are available for child care home and center based staff to pursue CDA, Associate and
Bachelor degrees. Partnership commitment from the child care program is required. Contact Michigan 4C Association TEACH Coordinator.

- Technical assistance: Information on child development, behavior management, parent communication
and program management. Demographic information including average costs of child care, concentration of care, and information on opening
a child care center.
- Professional organizations: Where to turn to network with other early childhood professionals.
- Resource libraries: Books, videos, and other resources music, science, persona dolls, sensory
integration, and gross motor kits. *The Resource Library is currently unavailable. We will be sure to post when it is up and running again. Thank you for your patience. (9/24/2007).

Marketing Support
Start up meetings: Thinking of opening a child care home? Information on the licensing process, how to assess whether child care is for you, insurance/liability issues, equipment and set up needs are all covered in this initial, free session that prepares you to enter the Michigan Licensing process.
Consultation: Individual consultation is available for those considering opening a day care home or a child care center. CCN can offer the first hour of consultation free of charge. Additional assistance is available for $50 per hour.
Market surveys and database information: Demographics on need for child care, current programs and openings in specific geographic regions within our five counties are available. The charge is $50 for each hour of staff time required to pull the data.
Database listing: Licensed child care programs benefit from free listing in our database of over 1,200 licensed homes and centers in our 5-county area.
- Referrals to parents seeking child care - CCN talks to over 7,500 families each year and helps them to find care for over 10,000 children. This is a major marketing service to you as an early childhood professional. Our listing includes your latest information on openings, hours, your level of professional development, special services you offer and more.
- Quarterly newsletter for early childhood professionals - regular information on classes, conferences, legislation and the newest information on early childhood development.
